I was an inquisitive child growing up. Always asking questions. Always curious. Always talking. Always starting conversations. I pretty much had something to say about everything. I love, LOVE, love connecting people to issues and I love to start conversations. I don’t want anyone to be misinformed or feel like they don’t have a voice. I love telling stories. So of course journalism was the obvious career choice for me…but I didn’t really like to write (more on that in a future blog post!). I actually wanted to be a TV investigative reporter….on the red carpet…asking Jay-Z questions about climate change and gentrification. Ha! Well that didn’t happen, but I found my place and purpose right here in Washington, DC – covering news and politics as a producer.
So what can you expect from my blog? News and politics of course. But also all the DC happenings, people of interest, my love of travel and Jamaican food. You’ll get a glimpse into my obsession with random things, like fonts and a proper cup of tea. You’ll see what drives me (social justice, mentoring young professionals), and what inspires me (my faith, family and Girl Scouts). So follow me on this blog journey. It’s been a long road but I’m excited about what’s next on the Jonelle Henry tour. Thanks in advance and welcome to my world.
