Finding My Flow as a Multi-Passionate Professional

For years, I fought against my multi-passionate nature. I tried to pick a lane. To specialize. To be that person with one clear identity that fits neatly on a business card. I’m not just a journalist AND an educator AND a community advocate AND a conference organizer. I’m all of these things BECAUSE I’m all of these things. My work in journalism informs my teaching. My community work creates stories worth telling. My varied experiences make me a better leader.

What society calls “scattered,” I now recognize as my superpower. When you embrace your diverse interests, magical things happen:

Finding that core theme doesn’t diminish any of my passions. It gives them context and creates a framework where they can all flow together.
